And We’re Back

It’s our first look at 2026 on this lovely, snow morning of January 7, 2026.

It’s already been a year, hasn’t it?

There’s no denying we’re in for a tense one for all sorts of reasons, but I suppose that’s all the more reason to find joy where we can find it. Taking some mental breaks in pop culture that brings us joy, that gives us a sense of peace and belonging. Maybe a few laughs. Maybe some swoons.

Heated Rivalry anyone?

I’m also reading my 3rd and 4th books of the year, so clearly I’m doing this “hiding from the world” thing correctly.

I’ve also been working hard already, taking steps to keep in line with my 2026 targets. Like writing this blog post!

Or like making Witch Accused free across retailers.

Although I’m biased, I have to say my bullet journal is a thing of beauty this year. I tried something different with my setup, and now there are bars to fill, hopefully keeping me more engaged with my targets than just having these random goals written on the page that I glance at now and then. Instead, I can get out my colourful highlighters and enjoy the dopamine hit of filling them in as I make progress.

As I surpass those targets, because HECK YES.

The biggest shift in my year is that I’m making marketing a priority. Even over drafting. Wild, right? And I can’t say I’m thrilled about it. But that’s what it is. I think it’s the piece I’ve been missing over the past 12 years of doing this job. I always stay focused on the next project without taking much time to talk about the recent projects. Which, thinking about it, is kind of silly.

But that’s not to say I won’t be focused on the next books.

For example, there’s going to be a cover reveal coming up in February.

There are going to be two art commission reveals across February and March.

All in preparation for the A Relic Cloaked in Thorns Kickstarter launching in the spring.

It’s going to be a pretty year.

It’s going to be a fun year.

And I look forward to sharing my journey with you as I go!
